cod/codling around derry/donegal

hows it going everyone

wanted to try giving fishing for cod a go

anyone got any tips on what months are best and were around derry or donegal i could go and have a throw for one?

I am after this info also. Posted on a few sites on cod but very little feed back

I believe the winter months to be the best time of year from what I'm told, the colder water bringing them closer to shore. As for where to catch them, they aren't that easy come by so I can't see anyone willing to give out any information in a hurry. Last year there were quite a few codling caught as far up as rathmullan pier, as for the cod, I'm hoping this year will be the year

i have a few marks that i can put you on for the cod, but they are a bit hairy to get on to, later i'll pm you were there are. i dont mind saying were the marks is for i dont fish them anymore, but they have been productive for me in the past, just about 30 minutes drive from Derry
