any tips for a new beach caster

hey all ,looking for a new rod to replace my aldi 13ft beach caster
i cast over head, mainly 3-5oz lead, clean ground , i use a fix spool reel . any tips or recommendations would be a big help

Why don't you just go for the 13ft beachcaster? There's one up for auction on eBay, should go handy enough money, only telling you cause it's fixed spool and I rather my multipliers

I have the greys grx-s fixed spool and find it a chackin bit of kit. I bought it as a step up from a cheap start off rod too and have no problems and it's brought in a few double figure congers and controls them well. Also increased my cast by a bit. I was using a hiro basic before the greys and found it a bit uncontrolled and messy.

for clean beach fishing i use my century black bird, but my second rod is usually always my salt 13'
i find the salt rod very good quality for the price range its in, i also use the salt on mixed and rough ground and it handles everything, it is light an' slim and has backbone when needed, a very good rod for that price bracket.

It's almost twice the price Also as fishermannum1 stated the salt is quite at home on mixed and rough ground whereas the k2 would be more suited to light beach and no more.

i was in the tackle shop today and was recommended the shakespere salt, i too will be changing rods soon, my 15ft surf beachcaster is just too big
so as the other guys have said, ya wont go far wrong with the salt

tackle.co.uk had them for 100pounds,i fishing with k2 from beaches,rocks and piers and had no problem with that,maybe just a bit too long 15ft from rocks and piers,anyway,i like continental style rods...

Is there much difference between the long surf 13 and the the salt beach 13 apart the surf been 3pce?

I was looking at these myself Daiwa Sandstorm - Shakespeare Salt - Ron Thomson "Stratocaster"

Not an awful lot, the long surf basically replaces the k2, has a lighter casting rating and I'm pretty sure doesn't come with fuji guides and reel seat like the salt beach does.
