 .Don't mean to be smart so sorry.Seriously just check up some fishing maps which can be accessed on this site and pick a mark and just take a chance and hope you get lucky. After that just keep a diary of sorts for locations, baits tides weather results etc, eventually a pattern will appear but this may take a while even years  .Other than that just talk to any anglers you meet on your travels and take any advice offered and be prepared to put in the hours many of which will be fruitless but when it will work out and a silver beauty bends your rod and leads you on a merry dance all the frustration will soon be forgotten, don't expect instant results as they are not as easy to catch as you maybe led to believe well down here anyway[many reasons why  ],but as i said when you have put in the time you will see a definate pattern which you can refer to with confidence each time you head out,oh and most importantly if you do get success be discreet on all details,as you would have had to put in alot of hard hours and effort to get your reward.

Well said it's true every word you wrote i caught my first bass in a spot where i hadnt a clue about if there were fish there or what they are, when i caught my first bass i had to ring someone to find out what it was, i took it home for the pot :( that was 3 years ago now and i release all my bass buts that's me.....look for the general places bass can hang out.....rocky coastline, beaches, estuary, the most unlikely spot will probably have bass   try this link to get you started http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/shor ... 20east.htm

id agree with what the lads above said except for one thing. their not too difficult to catch(with bait anyway), IF your in the right spot. the hard part is finding where they are and having the right bait.
might be best to use smaller hooks like size 2's or 1's and dont have huge baits on them. with these you'll probably get a few doggies and flats along the way so you wont get too bored catching nothing. when you do find a bass hotspot and can figure out when best to fish it you can upsize the hooks and baits if you want to.

it took me months to get my 1st one and i felt like packing it in many a lonely, rainy night on the beaches, but when you do hook one and can feel it pulling for all its worth, the hard work and effort will have been worth it.
