newcastle weed. Please Help!

Fished newcastle beach today and the place was covered in weed. Not one time did I retrieve without a ton of weed on the line which made fishing impossable. :x :( Have fished this beach almost every day for past two weeks but never was it so bad. The tide was also ripping hard.
Figured it may be because of wind direction or something but dont rightly know. Can anybody help me. Are there certain weather conditions o wind directions which would make the problem worse.
If so bad today is it worth fishing tomorrow or will weed still be around. Any info on what conditions are best and what times its best avoided is really appreciated or any tactics that should be employed.
I also always fish at high tide as i dont have a big enough cast to reach fish at any other time here would this effect it at all?
Thanks for any help.

I would also be interested to know what conditions brings in the weed as it makes fishing so uncomfortable. i do most fishing around greystones but presume it would be the same or does here tend to get worse weed.
