Bait collection around Cork area

Hoping someone can help me with bait collecting.. Recently took up sea fishing and would like to be able get my own bait when needs be. Anyone have info on where I could put down a few tyres for pellar crab around cork or east cork area??
Also looking for info on where I could dig lug and rag?? I hear live sand eel are a great bait on a float for Bass fishing. Ive tried all takle shops looking for live sandeels but no joy. Are they hard to collect myself and if so where and how.... Any tips are much appreciated..

Hi RobR2010, I'm in the cork area as well and the locations rory suggested you are fine.

Just a small surprised on reading about tyres to catch peeler, do not you think is a bad idea for the environment ?
The sea is just full of sh...t we do not need to add extra on top of the exisitng one.

Sorry for the vent, I've seen lots of these tyres on low tide during a walk with my wife and it was an horrible show.

Your right about the tyres not looking good. Not sure how detremental they are to the enviroment myself other than the fact they look horrible.. Any other suggestions on how I could get peller. Turning over stone upon stone would be quite time consuming and perhaps not as productive?

Any idea where I could buy live sand eel lads ??

For peeler crab, find the rocky bank of a smelly estuary and start turning over stones.

Time consuming, your back will hurt like fock and your boots will be caked in foul smelling gunge but, it's satisfying work and can be good craic....ish
