Well firstly, i prefer chest waders to theigh waders cause i hate when a wave splashes you while wading and water goes into the waders!
I use neoprene chest waders, their extreamly handy for beach fishing. They can be pretty hot in the summer on a warm day though but a godsend in the winter. They will you warm and dry. Along with the benifets of being able to wade into the surf.
I dont have anything too fancy, iv the daiwa ones and they work just fine for me. Saying that the sonic ones look very nice but cost a bit more.

been using LIDL chest waders for over a year, sea and river, still good but get a bit hot! possibly the same with a lot of waders in warm weather! just under 20 quid too :)
once you wash them and hang them up after a session, i think any waders will last a while longer!
aftercare is the trick to longevity! :) :) :)
re waders, make sure ye know the area yer fishing as they are not a good thing if they fill with a wave, better off wet and wearing a lifejacket!! i would never use them rock fishing, not good if ye slipped! Know the water ye wade in! take a walk at low tide to check out the area.

hi wilky. i was asking the same questions myself a few weeks back and out of all the brands available the best seem to be a brand called ocean. if you do a quick google search under the title "ocean chest waders review" you'll get lots of good feedback from lots of forums regarding them. they seem to last forever and are wider than most brands at the top to allow for good air flow so you do'nt cook on hot days. rather than approaching a set of waders from an angler's point of view, all the boys who work on commercial boats think they're great and long lasting. so if they can take the abuse of a few years on a commercial trawler they should stand up to a good few years of recreational angling
here's a link to the site i got my one's from http://www.gofishingshop.co.uk/clothing ... 16933.html
