buying lures

were is the best place to buy lures and the cheapest? fed up getting poor quality lures at bad prices in fishing shops. also anywere to get cheap tackle in general, terminal tackle etc would be appreciated

cheap doesnot always mean good mate,but have a look on e bay can some times pick up bulk swivels and line and the like at a resonable price.

Usually some guys doing a clear out of lures keep an eye on the tackle for sale section.

But if your buying new, deffinatly get ones for surface and subsurface work with light and dark colours, with some soft lures like Xlayers or Slugos.

As for the soft ones there are some japanse sites you can get them from much cheaper than anywhere within Ireland or UK and for these site i have no idea where, i have been told by some guys in the cork area.

what i mean is places to buy things like nordic herring spinners online for cheap rather than pay maybe 2.50 or watever in the local fishing shop

You didn't say what circumstances/species you wanted lures for mate, so this is just a generalized answer.

I regret that I rarely buy such items as lures from shops here in Ireland due to the lack of selection and/or overpricing, so get most of these items overseas far cheaper, (even including postage costs). Veals (http://www.veals.co.uk) in the Uk have recently beefed up their range of shore lures to include classic bass kit like Tackle House Feed Shallows and Megabass Zonk's etc. as well as old faithfuls like the Maria Angel Kiss etc., also soft plastics like Slu-Go's for weedless and Xlayers etc. plus they stock a wide range of decent terminal gear (both ready-made and components). Mr Fish (http://www.mrfishjersey.com) over in Jersey have both more specialist kit and also very fast delivery, as well as being good for a chat about options. BassnBait (http://www.bassnbait.com) in Portugal also sell a great range of lures and terminal items at good prices, and stuff arrives within 3 days usually (you don't have to speak Portuguese and being in the Euro there's no fiddling about with exchange rates). Finally Jim McKendrick over in Wexford maintains an absolutely brilliant blog at http://www.probassfisher.com for both sage advice on technique and suggestions for gear.
