does any one know any ways to
catch sea trout without fly fishing?

ya, lots! ...................fish for them like you fish for flounder,just up your hook sizes to 1s,and search a bit futher out into the surf.

best baits down here are, black lug/ tipped with sliver of bluey/mack, frozen wraps/tipped with mack, small to medium sandeel.and you need a licence to fish for them.
