Dun Laoighre

Evening all,

First time poster although I'v enjoyed reading your posts over the last couple of months. I'm only a part timer due to young kids taking up my time, but I'm hatching a cunning plan.
My 6 year old has shown a bit of interest and I reckon if he gets the bug I can use him as an excuse to get out fishing more.
So I plan to bring him out tomorrow (probably to Dun Laoghaire)
Anyone know how its fishing and where it might produce some tiddlers. He'd even be happy catching a few sprat.

Cheers

Have always found Dun Laoighre a decent enough spot. At the end of the far peir i have had some hectic sessions everythin from whiting pollock wrasse conger macks and every other mini species in between. Nice easy spot to fish to only prob can be the questions from passers bye but then again you can meet some great carachters. Like mentioned before size your hooks maybe 4 or 6 kamasans will hook almost anything there. Hope this helps

Ah yeah there are wrasse all along the west pier, I haven't fished fished out there for a while but when I was out there last summer I had great fun catching ballans, corkwings and goldsinnys on a little 7' rod and a pack of rag. Now the ones I was catching weren't very big but I'm sure there are bigger ones there.
