What is the legal standing on Cast nets?

Hey,
been looking into a cast net to collect sandeel and such, what is the law on these does anybody know?
Is it alright to use them for bait collection?

ha mate as far as i know there is no law regards fishing for fish bait... either by net or rod...

give dave tilly a pm daire and he will advise you on the ins and outs of cast netting ,he might point u in the right direction also damian
