I usually use a Maria Parade for the Sea Trout but would like to trila using bait, was wondering what methods could be applied?

simple buddy.u can try floating 4 them with a baited hook.i think the best is a flapper rigger with different baits.thats the way i got mine.seatrout swim

high in the water so if im usin a 2 hook flapper(1 up/1 down) i put a sandeel on the top hook.seatrouts favourite bait i think.put a strip mack or a lugworm on hook 2(bottom hook)that hook mite get u a flattie while on the bottom.all mine were from the beachs so if ur in deeper water spin or float 4 them.hope this helps.ur local tackle shop should help u to.

i used to spin for them using dried shrimp and found them very effective around the mouth of the river

Strange you should say that, they used to be very hard to tempt on the fly but went mad for a shrimp fly we tried one season.

Robbie try useing sprat on a size 1 hook & running lead, it is deadly for them, i coulden't begin to count the amount of seatrout that i get every year with this method....

sea trout gorge on what ever is in abundance at the mouth of the river before they go up to spawn.sand eels, shrimp, fry,
seen them take rag, crab,lug the reason i used shrimp, there used to be a lot of them at the mouth of the river i was fishing and i found that they were feeding on this
