Newbie needs help!

Hi All

Firstly I suppose I am an absolute beginner so any help or advice would be really apreciated.

I was out yesterday in Waterford, fishing off rocks, over shallow sand, from low tide to high tide using peeler crabs and 1/0 and 1s 3 hook rigs and all I was getting was very small fish, Flounder, Pollock and Bass I think, all VERY small.

So my question is, is this down to the location, hook size, spot or bait.......... or all of the above :) or is it just down to look or technique?

For any locals I was fishing off the Corrig between passage and Woodstown if that helps!
Maby you could tell me a better spot at this time of the year??
I was thinking of trying the Flat Rocks in Dunmore East in Search of Doggies???

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hey there,
Im far from the best one here to give advice bit it sounds to me like the hooks and bait might have been a tad small to catch the bigger fish!!! Just a though and i could be wrong!!!!!! Try moving up a size and see if ya have any luck with bigger hooks with more bait. Catch rate may drop down but size should increase.

Welcome to the Site and Fishing!!!!

the big fish have to be there first to catch them try using two rods one with a big bait and the other with 3 small baits
