when do the codling move out

Fri Apr 23, 2010 10:51 am

I fished a rock mark two nights during the week in louth and caught a good few codling, a good few of them between 30- 40cm. Iv fished this place for the last 7 or 8 years but dont remember seeing any in the summer, could anyone tell me when they head out and is it normal to get them this time of the year up here?

caught a 30cm codling from beach mark in Galway bay yesterday evening. Never seen one this time of year either .... inshore water temps still way down on what would normally be expected for April/May ... no surprises there I suppose given the winter/spring we've had
