Hello,
My dad and I are thinking about visiting the west coast of Clare/Shannon area for a fishing holiday in September. We previously (in years gone by)have fished some of the marks on the Shannon fisheries board website, with some success, with doggies and a few strap conger, but this time would like to try for something a bit different. Can anyone suggest areas or marks that might produce something a bit special (I know nothing is guaranteed in fishing!)? Having said that anything other that 4 inch pouting would be great!!!
Cheers all
Chris

wrassecatcher,
Where will you be based? I will be living in West Clare near The Bridges of Ross permanently from July. Good Wrasse fishing and Triggerfish in Sept. in this area. Also conger and pollock. There are also marks like Doughmore Strand near Doonbeg which should produce Bass in surf.
PM me before you arrive for update on what's happening. In the meantime look up South Clare Shore Marks on this site. There is a link on the Home Page to Shore Marks.
Tight Lines!
