maddies

what are the best ways to keep maddies alive???

i keep them in a bucket with saltwater in it, just a bit of water you dont need a whole load!

sea peat,organic compost(soaked in sw and dried out) or damp paper will keep them for weeks in good cond.

agree with gd here ,great job for keeping them last weeks if kept damp and checked every so often.

how good is the organic compost for maddies? i was told of a place to get sea peat but its over 50 miles away and the garden centre is about 3 . ill probably be down that direction again during the summer but looking for something to do me for the next few weeks as i dont like them in the paper.

Its perfect I have used It for years with no problems at all...Other people seem to have issues with It but I guess thats due to being careless.

It must be organic and must be soaked in clean saltwater overnight and then just soak all the water from the compost a scoop at a time using a old tee-shirt I find best.

After that just spray the maddies with a light mist of saltwater twice daily. It can be reused over and over again just make sure you dont let any worms die In It or it wont be reusable. Perfect for weeks
