Hi all, im a regular boat angler here on the main land and will be in the kilkeel area for my brothers wedding from 19-5-10 for 8 days.
I will be staying on peir road and belive the house backs onto Carlingford loch, is this a area that fishes well?.
Could anyone point we to a few marks that are any good from the shore and what i might catch?.
Also got a couple of pots i would like to get out, is this ok in the loch and is there anywhere local i might be able to get a boat to hire on the loch, rowing or whatever is on offer.
Thanks Simon.

Could be Mainland Europe
Simon, have a look here;
http://www.carlingfordlough.co.uk/. There are charters available, and the tope fishing is supposed to be excellent, also ofcourse the sea trout already mentioned. There are plenty of shore marks around that area that also produce.

I have seen a few programmes on Sky tv re. flyfishing from the shore for sea trout and bass. The only thing I took from the progammes is to be up nice and early!! I also think there harbour in kilkeel fishes well for macky's in the summer. From memory (15 years ago) it can get quite crowded.
