Small sized sprat

Anyone know the best place to buy sprat? My local shops all seem to be out or else just have the big pike bait sized ones in stock. Looking some smaller ones the size of your finger or less..

Any ideas?

if i'm not mistaken, ask yer local fishmonger to order a bag of whitebait, friends of mine buy them for feeding fish-eating snakes! fairly cheap too.

Could you not use sandeel instead?

Can use sandeel if all else fails but prefer sprat to be honest. Anywhere from Belfast to Derry (I'll be driving along that route tomorrow) that I might be able to pick them up?

only seeing this post now, might be a bit late for you, you can get them in Donegal catch in skeoge industrial estate here in derry...

I bought sprats from a guy on ebay they come in a sealed bag of about 10, cheap and usually quick delivery (cornish baits) you can also get sandeel, lug, rag and mackeral.

Got a few today in Toms Tackle, cheers for the advice lads
