me thinks there's a pier in doolin so i guess you can fish off that!(certain members on this message board will probably give out to me for not knowing exact and concrete details!) but you have all the numbered pegs along by ballyreen, and black head to fish along. there's also fanore beach. i'm sorry that i have no recent details and catch results on the area, but the place has a very good reputation. the only place i'm aware of with regards tackle is a small shop in fanore, but it's your typical overpriced tourist fishing shop selling little other than mackeral feathers and rigs along with grossly overpriced rapala lures, so you might be snookered with regards getting/bringing bait. the entire coastline up there looks as fishy as hell though, best of luck.

Definitely mullet in the Harbour off the end of the pier, so take a sack of bread with you. It's quite a sheltered harbour with a bit of a beach, so a few flatties are also possible.

Will bring some bait with me a throw a few baits of the pier and a few beers down the neck should make the whole trip more bearable :)

Sam,
I pasted this taken from Shore Marks on this Site.
Link is on Homepage.
5 - Doolin An extremely popular tourist village, Doolin is where the ferries depart daily for the Aran Islands. It has a wonderful array of pubs and restuarants, but the harbour, pier and beach is what anglers are interested in... Species & Techniques: Bottom fishing on the beach will produce bass, dogfish and flatfish... there are extremely dangerous currents with multiple drownings recently on the shifting sandbanks - do NOT venture out. Spinning will get mackerel and the odd bass off the rocks to the north. Smaller flatfish, dogfish and mullet are often found around the harbour itself.
Note: Closed Season for Bass 15-May to 15-June.
Note also: Dangerous currents!

Plenty of marks available nearby town. Fished there a couple of years back in June and caught decent Pollack from the Pier, rising tide towards sunset - amazingly harbour suddenly appeared to fill with them! caught a few around the 3lb mark ledgering mackerel baits and spinning. Also some wrasse caught from among the rocks alongside the small beach to the right of the pier as you approach along the road. Excellent rock platform marks if you go to the right and over the small hill, perfect for spinning - Polack again - around the 3lb mark. Bright sunshine seems to kill the fishing here so early morning late evening works best. Good tackle shop in Lisdoonvarna, no live bait but frozen mackerel/squid available.
