Killorglin Area 1st Time Sea Fishing Help Required

Hello all.

Just came across this site today and delighted i found it.

Anyway,Im moving to Killorglin next week from Limerick City.Im interested in taking up fishing again. Now when i say again i fished a few times a few years ago in Plassey and Underneath the New Bridge. All i ever caught was a few perch and the odd trout. However i loved the hobby,Even when i didn't catch a fish it was still a great day out.

SO my experience with fishing is very limited.I read on this topic that the nearest fishing beach would be Glenbeighhttp://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bulletin%20board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15834&p=120582&hilit=killorglin#p120582 which is not that far from my house.

Im wondering what type of fish would be there and when?
Would it be possible to fish in the winter?
WHat type of gear i would need without spending a fortune?
DO i need a license and if so where would i get one?

Also any other information i may need?

THank You in Advance

There is lots of fishing available in the area you are moving to - summer and winter. When you get a moment check out the Tralee Bay Sea Angling Club website on www.traleebaysac.org and get in touch with the club through the 'contact us' section. The club has a proud record of supporting newcomers to the sport and introducing them to competitive angling when they feel sufficiently confident. Good luck.
