ok lads i need some help

spent 4.5 hours at our comp yesteday holding a 14 foot rod up as high as i could to keep my line out of the weed and surf ,my back is a tad sore today

but not too bad i put my prize money under it last night for extra support

anyone any ideas for a megga tall tripod/rod holding device would need to be stable in high winds and big surf

(thought about the wavin pipe yoke they use in oz but not much use on a shingle beach?)

i use the Mustad 6ft to 8ft Super Deluxe Match Tripod and find it very good, plenty of height and stable as well,i have it well tested in high winds and never had any problem

yes it has a good strong hook for hanging a bucket on which is also good for adding a bit of weight to the tripod in very windy conditions,i will take a photo of it later so you can have a better look

cormoran do a nice strong tripod too. 3 adjustable legs, cups slide up and down, the rests and the cups(both luminous ) slide out to give more stability ,also a hook for hanging and a chain from the crossbar to the back leg for stability .bit pricey but mine has been through the wars and is still going strong . folds down to about 3ft

most important part of a tripod if you fish surf beaches for bass ,unless you like peelers running round in your waders

thanks for the advice lads

the shakespeare salt is good in high winds. not sure how high it goes but ive had my rod butt about 3 or 4 foot off the ground with it. it has the hook for the bucket but its too wide to hang a spare trace so i usually tie a snap swivel to the top arm and hang the trace from that.
on the down side its a bitch to put together, has sharp edges and is pretty heavy if you have to carry it far but it does have a good bag with it
