seatrout in the sea

Has anyone had any luck with catching seatrout in the sea and by what method, i have tried it at the Moy estuary with limited success on spinners but havnt tried using bait for them, Wardstown beach looks a good spot for them has anyone tried there.

Ballycastle beach normally produces fish from now on a shortish cast on the beach caster baited with mackerel or sandeel will take them ,had fish to 3lb of here .you can also use a flyer above your main trace ,use a floating bead to add a bit more bouyancy .

Theres a steep bay just at the end of the beach behind Finnar Army Camp in south Donegal which produces seatrout regularly.

Put a sandeel on a long (4 or 5 foot) flowing trace and let it sweep around the bay with the very strong tide. You'll usually recognise the take as the line goes very slack and a large bow is created. They normally hook themselves.

I have also caught them accidentally while fishing for pollack off racky marks in Lough Swilly with german spratt type lures.
