congor rig

Hi all, so far I have only been catching congor up to about a metre long but have lost some quite a bit bigger, admitedly only using 50lb snood line, tried using wire but haven't had as many takes, this seems to be a common experience from what I read here so I'm going back to mono this time uprated to 150lb, it's pretty thick should I be tieing on hooks and swivels or using crimps like on the wire :?:

What mainline strength are you using? Lost more eels to this breaking rather than the actual biting trace going or being bitten through

thanks, I normally fish off rocks or pier walls for them using a boat rod with 30 line, all lost ells have been due to the light snood line being bitten through, it would come back with the last few inches badly scored/scraped
