alrite mate ive been to matagorda twice, good mullet fishing off the rocks near the harbour in old town, the boat anglin is a mixed bag withthe deep sea fishin for marlin and big fish very very hit and miss, talked to some lads been out 3 times in two weeks with nought to show for it at 70 euro a head :? there is a bottom fishing charter and you will catch smallish fish ,bream etc for 60 euro a day with lunch and a few beers thrown in, i tried lure fishing on the beaches and only caught very small weavers  alive with them, beware of the local anglers who sent me to a bass mark no bass but a nudey beach mostly occupied by men and me with me rod in me hand doh :!: dont try to fish for mullet in the harbour you will be chased off, enjoy yourself . 8) theres more info and a detailed report somewhere on this site

Check out the holiday snappers section, there is a few reports from Lanzarote there, all good to read.

This is the report from my recent trip to Costa Teguise in Lanzarote.

There is some really nice fish out there. I tried a lot of different tactics when I was out there, most of the fishing is done with the float and you will catch bream, derbio's etc which is great craic. I used prawn(gamba) calamari squid and BREAD(which took my biggest bream).

A lot of the locals fished the bottom and got some nice bream and various other rock fish and tropical type fish. I did this also and had a good bit of success and lost 2 huge fish, snapping my line(4lb braid). I wold suggest bringing light tackle and getting some sport out of it, however bring a spare spool loaded with heavier stuff if you want to fish tight to the bottom (snags, however the chance of a nice fish).

The mullet fishing off the rocks is awesome and kept me entertained for hours, my best was a golden gray to just over a pound and a half.

Hope this helped, and have a good 1.

No worries mate, I got a lot of info from guys on the site just before I left and it really did help. Just read those reports and you'll have a bit of an idea what to expect. Bring really light tackle and you'll have a blast.

All the best
Jonny
