What is the Breeding Cycle of the Mullet?

I was asked by someone recently in one of the posts to give them information about the breeding cycle of the mullet for research they were doing.
This got me thinking about it and although I don't know that much on the subject, I will try to answer the question based on what I do know.
Mullet are an extremely slow-growing fish and they can take up to 15 years to reach a weight of 6lb.
In addition to this the breeding cycle is sporadic, with some fish only breeding once every three years.
Spawning occurs during the months of January - April with the young showing up in tidal-pools and in-shore.
I guess it depends on a number of different factors such as the breeding ground of the fish, changes or differences in water temperature's etc.
If you have any thoughts on this or if you can provide any additional information regarding the breeding cycle of the mullet and you would like to share them, then feel free, your input and contribution would be welcomed.
