Yes! find the bigger lug and gut them as you dig them ( to stop them blowing) place them on newspaper to dry leave for a couple of days in a cool place then roll them in fresh newspaper and freeze. they are good for small fish and the like.

http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bait ... %20lug.htmSome gut them, others dont...it really depends on your own preference.
I've been told that in gutting them, your removing a great deal of the scent, common sense I guess as your getting rid of the innards, however, gutting them may make it easier to present on the hook maybe.
I dare say its all a matter of opinion.
When I'm digging my own worms, I tend to seperate any damaged ones, and freeze those, but I'll also freeze any unused whole worms after a session if I wont be using them fresh within a few days.

Trial and error freezing worm worked for me. And everyone has their own view. Myself. i freeze them whole, as fresh as possible in newspaper. Just lay out a sheet and pop a worm on, roll over the paper edge to cover the worm and then pop another worm on. Then roll and continue for 10/12 worms. then freeze. Just try not to crush or be too rough with them.
