barbed. i've never lost a fish while fishing barbless, but i tend not to take the risk and the tiny barb on owner hooks comes out easy enough.

I use a very small barbed treble. The fish are only ever hooked in the front of the mouth and it comes out easy enough . I cant recall ever having a mullet take the hook right down to cause a problem.
When fishing bread flake on the surface I use two trebles one squeezed heavily into the bread to stop it coming off in the cast and the other resting lightly into the rest of the bait.
This works well for me. Is it unsporting I dont think so.

They are very hard to hook so I just use a spear seeing as they are so close in shore and easy to see.
