Help me catch a Thornback Ray

Hey Lads

So here's the story,
Im dying to catch a Thornback Ray, or any Ray for that matter. :lol:
Have heard so many stories of great fights put up by them and so on..... :mrgreen:
Im in Kerry so where do i fish?
What Bait do i use?
What Rig?
What Tide is best??

I know loads of questions but this is my big mission for this year so need to get it as right as i can,

where to fish :?: :?: , startng out from kerry, head towards limerick and keep going till you reach donegal give us a call and we'll look after the rest :wink: :wink:

Id thought there would marks down there were you can stingers and thornies as well. im sure there is reports on here somewhere. do a search see what comes up

Regarding your questions, I suggest a book a saw in easons for 20 euro, its a new irish sea angling book.

''sea angling in ireland'' by john rafferty he has a bait collum inside IRISH ANGLING magazine for may.

this may help? failing that the central fisheries website has info too.

I have only ever caught them off a boat using fish baits.

I did not buy the book myself due to recession cut backs!! I find most info on google searches for free..

Waht about rigs and bait?? and Hook Size??

Well i got half way there the last night on Fenit Pier (See Report)
Had the RAY TO THE TOP OF THE WATER!!!!!!!
When he slipped the hook :oops: :oops:

So close

Will keep ya posted!!!!!
Not giving up that easy!
