hey
anyone any info on catching bass please
just looking for habitat and tide state rigs and bait, livebait, deadbait or lures, time of year,time of tide, not looking for anyones hot spots! but has ony one caught any around dublin bay, killiney, bray?

digging bait at sutton the tide was starting to make and the water was filling the holes a german walked out passed me and stared to fish in to the holes he took two good sized bass within the first halfhour of the tide 1 was over 8lb it might be worth a shot

he was useing rag and lug and crab just kept casting in to the diggings itold afriend of mine from howth he said he lives near by and he does this to great affect any time he gos out normally first hour and half of the tide he said you can see the bass shooting in and out of the holes

Dug rag up there a good bit last summer, and have to say I never saw any bass, but I'll certainly keep a better lookout this summer

small rod in the boot when you go digging fish the channel while your digging you should have enough bait dug by the time it starts filling the holes you have time to play with the fish then have it sussed twinkle

hey twinkle! any closer locationns where you dig that rag?/ bass ect...
im out in Dun Laoghaire. i dig out at east wall for rag and pellers

you could try dollymount at the bridge always good rag digging there mind you i did here there was a gang of romanians
digging for some shop all last summer so dont know what its like now same there you can see fish coming in on the tide
there is a mussel bank only seen . at low tide if you walk out from the bridge and dig there soon as tide turns you see fish some are mullet some are bass

Opened up an east coast bass caught recently and belly was full of small *hard backed* crabs and a couple of small fish - they look like rockling, but could be whiting (partially digested). draw your own conclusions when they're coming in to feed in the run up to the closed season.
