New to Sea Fishing and Ireland (cork) a few questions.

No1 the legalities.
Is there a rod license requirement if your not fishing for salmon or trout?
Am i in any danger of accidentally hooking a salmon or a trout?
Are most shore area's legal to fish or am I liable to upset a local landowner with a big dog and or a shotgun.

Equipment
I've been mainly a coarse fisherman using poles float rods carp rods and swimfeeder rods and spinning for pike.
can I use any of this equipment for Sea fishing (I understand my pole fishing gear would be pretty useless) but my pike and carp rods are pretty sturdy. most of line is about 3-4lb but some spools are 6 -10lb
Hooks currently are typically 20's 18's and some 12's. I did try a size 12 with a hair rigged fish pellet but all it got me was a crab.
I do have a few ledger bombs up to a couple of oz and i guess my floats will be useless.

So what do I need to buy to get started and looking to buy in the future. I'm based in Blarney but Kinsale seems to be my best bet any idea where there are any decent shops for bait and tackle.

Oh the biggy recommended places to fish at this time of year. Ideally without getting into a boat.

thanks in advance

looks to be a good one too, it clears up my confusion over rod licenses, basically you need them for salmon and trout but not for coarse or sea fishing, and theres a fair number of rules if you want to take a fish home. halfway tackle looks to be a good place to pick up the additional tackle and bait I probably need.

Note that it's a licence for Salmon and SEA trout, fishing for brown trout and rainbow trout needs no licence.

Give mullet fishing a go. It's the nexus of sea, game and coarse angling.
