what are "soft shell" crabs and are they any good as bait? are there just crabs that have peeled already?? i spotted them in the freezers in an asian shop last week. 12 for 7.99. they were whole with legs still on.

softy crab ,s have peeled and the new shell is kinda leathery ,they do work but the scent isnt as pungent as the true peeler crab ,saying that they would be better than velvet swimmers which when frozen are a waste of your money

baitbox do them pure crXp

Rogers bang on but if you can get fresh velvet peelers they are deadly, they peel later than shore crabs and live deeper but can be gotten at the lowest LW,around FM.
