Hi gunnerska im from down the road in Donegal but i have been in Derry once or twice........ there is a shop on the Buncrana road out of Derry called land and sea ?? (not sure about name) but its at the second set of traffic lights on the way out on the left hand side (signposted) they have some sea gear but not a lot. there is also a shop in the city (bog side) but they don't have a lot of sea gear. if you pm Paul bryson as he lives there he told me of a new shop in New Buildings which might be worth a look ?? by fare the best selection of sea gear is in Letterkenny (in the south) which is about 22 miles away. there are 3 good tackle shops there and I'm sure you will find a bargain.

the shop in new buildings which was by far the best sea angling shop sadley is now closed.the others carry very little in the line of sea tackle unfortunately.most people that sea fish in this area buy on line from the likes of veals and such .john

By far the best tackle shop is swilly flies on the Ramelton road outside Letterkenny.
Not sure about sea-fishing gear. But he has a good stock of quality gear and John himself is a gentleman.

As stated above the shops in derry are mostly geared, towards game fishing.
Land & sea is a rip off!
Maybe its just me but I always get the feeling in Rod n line that they are looking down their noses at ye because your lookin for sea fishing gear, but its probably the easiest to get to if your in the town center.
The guy out in Toms tackle seems really sound, and if he doesnt have what your looking for he will try to get it in for ye, tho I suppose thats not much use to you if your only up for the weekend.
Save yer money and head to 'peadars' or 'the gweedore' for a loc a pints!

Lough Swilly Angling Centre on the Ramelton road on the outskirts of Letterkenny stock a massive range of fly fishing equipment along with a very good selection of Sea Gear . John the owner is a top class fly angler who knows his stuff. He is easy to deal with and if you have not got what you want he will get it for you.
He has a web site shop called donegalanglingcentre.com
