Hi,
Any bait will catch down there mate.
All fish can be caught with a gentle lob outside the peir wall.
Plently of small fish down the to under 1lb weight.
Use te lightest gear possible to get a bit of craic out of them !

Hi
Fish into the rough ground at night with larger baits (crab and lug being good, squid a good tipping bait) on a coming tide and you can often pick up decent codling as well as pin whiting.
I have had rockling, strap congers and a small gurnard off it too when I used smaller baits.
FWIW

Fish the corner of the pier if you can (usually occupied by an elderly angler, hes a decent bloke)
Cast into the mouth of the harbour for good Dabs.
Or you could aim a few casts towards the shipping channel.
Watch you bait, as the local rodent has a habit of stealing it !

if the weather is bad you could fish a place called the rope,it s about half way between arthurstown and ballyhack,it can be a good spot too and is sheltered.
