Hi Rab,

Check this one out, I asked the same question as you before… cant remember where I asked it but after the feed back I got I picked this one… don’t get me wrong there are a lot of cheaper scales out there,

My cheaper one died after I hung a 22lb conger on it so I looked for one with a bit of back bone as it will only come out of its bag for anything over 10lb, :)

I've had a Rapala one that I picked up pretty cheaply at the fishing show one year, I think its called a Rapala Proguide. I been using for a year or two while and for the price it aint half bad, does the job and has never let me down. If however you are looking for something a little nicer it might be worth having a look at the Salter Electro Samson.
