Can anyone recomend a brand of Fluoro Carbon, I have read reports on here saying to stay away from berkely, Im buying 15lb for gilling for pollack from boat, and 6lb for leaders for general shore angling.
Locally I can get Ultima Vantage, but if its not up to much I'll go else where.

I have been using Yo Zuri H.D flurocarbon for the last while and have found it pretty good, Seaguar is also pretty good and worth checking out.

I have been using Yo Zuri Hybrid for 3 years now and find it great
its very good if you get caught in weed or a snags,I have seen hooks straiten and rigs break before the line breaks
it has a small diameter too,10 Pound test is only 0.308mm
all the info on yo zuri can be found on

yo damn right
maxima (not a flouro), 12/14/18lb for flat n dogs in estuaries/shingle
seaguar 12lb for flats on clear sand
stren coral mist 20lb for dogs on clipped rigs
and recently found an old spool of berkley vanish in 12lb lying in the shop, must be a rebel spool as its really nice, supple, stretch free and ties well, im as confused as the next guy its usually nasty stuff???

Have sort of stopped using Seaguar, found it a useful fluro but have since moved back to mono for snoods for flats etc., have found the fluro's can be a little stiff. Mostly using Tecklon Super Natural these days, very supple and nice natural presentation.
Cant stand that berkely stuff, have four or five unused spools in drawer for last three years...its like cheap chinese mono painted with nail varnish

I find Berkely is fine as long as you pay attention to getting your knots right. Though very unforgiving if you don't!!
