Hi all I'm new to this fishing lark took it up about 12 months ago and was immediately addicted. The Thornback has become my favourite species to target and catch, mostly in channels at low tide or over flat sand, however in past few weeks they really seem to have simply diappeared off the radar. Do they go on holiday, where do they go, when can I expect to see them again? What do I do in the meantime?
Regards

agree with the cod although pollack and coalies arent bad either at this time of year. apparently this is the time to fish for congers too.

not so much the time to fish for congers but calm nights are best..of which we are getting alot lately also its the time of the year where you can have a four hour night session and still arive home at a reasonable time of the night..unlike summer. congers are there all year round. i.e. resident fish
