BASS

would any one have any info on how far bass will travel up esturies or do they stay in salt water

no definite info but I know that they can travel up into fresh water and will go up further on the higher tides. I Cannot for the life of me find a link to the site that had this info. I know that they mention that they found a field mouse in the stomach of a bass at some stage.

If you check out some of the Uk based info regarding Bass catches it will help to answer you question. I'm sure I've read reports of them being caught well up the estuaries in Cornwall/Devon in the south east of England.

However, I'm sure it will differ from area to area, but common sense says it will depend on their food source more than anything as they're not a fish than migrates into fresh water to spawn
