is there any spots on the north down coast that there may be a bass or two. ive heard of some around ballyhenry point outside of portaferry and some around ballywalter, dont know if there are or not. millisle looks very bassy too. maybe give them a blast in a week or two after all it has chucked other rarer species up for me includin golden grey mullet, thin lipped mullet and giant gobbies. you just never know.

I've seen bass caught on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough. Thats pretty close to South Down.
Some people say that there's bass in Strangford Lough but I don't know anyone who's ever caught one or seen one caught.
They have bass in Exploris!

Don't know about Ballywalter although there was a story doing the rounds about two years ago that they were shoaling on the beach there, perhaps the Great White Shark ate them all.

What I do know is that I have seen school bass caught on Ballyholme Beach(twice) South Pier(once) and once from a boat in Bangor bay. All these fish were caught (and recorded) in late Autumn to mid Winter by members of Bangor Sea Angling Club. I see no reason why they should not be caught in the places you mention as they are regularly caught off the beaches in Galloway, 20NM East of the Ards Peninsula. Fish for them and when you are successful keep it to yourself otherwise you shall be tormented by free loaders and tangle netters.

i heard or them around the isle of man. no reason why they shouldnt be around the beech in cloghy or even portavogie.
