which is the best form of bite indication when fishing off windy piers?!
float or just relying on my beach rods tip?

i know how hard it can be to detect a bite on a windy day, the only advice i can give you would be to watch the rod in such a way that, you can tell the difference between the wind shaking the rod from side to side and a bite pulling the rod down hope it helps

Hold the rod and hook the line over your finger as if casting a fixed spool reel - you'll *feel the bite* transmitted. same for any fishing actually. don't let the rod do the fishing on it's own...

Lye in below the rod and look up at it...Works especially good

i find that keeping the rod tips low and placing the rods in line with the wind helps. It also means that you can stand with your back to the wind while watching for bites

Just a matter of finding a way that works for you. I find that after you have been out in plenty of bad weather you just get used to telling the difference.
