Last week (calm sea) when pollocking in Donegal bay from a rock shelf I saw a shark (classic dorsal and tail fin) close in (could have spit at it) - just cruising along the rocks. Any idea what it might have been?

prob a basking shark ,there's been a fair amount spotted around the donegal coast so far this year .

There's been loads spotted down round Kilkeel and Newcastle too this year....

Sounds like Basking, been a few about the bay this year. Seems to have been lots about everywhere by the sounds of it.

have seen basking sharks at the m outh of lough swilly a few years in a row now.plankton feeders so not a great white! but you never know whats out there.!!!
