FIXED SPOOL REEL

Having spent the weekend with crackoffs, birdies and multi reels givin grief Ithrew on an old shimano fiwed spool i had in the box spent the rest of the weekend trouble free ,but its old and was thinking of upgrading whats doing the rounds now any advice welcome thanks

HIRO-magna 10005.smoothest fixed spool i`ve used and has taken tope to 23lb,conger over 20lb.relatively inexpensive but very popular on the continent. :wink:

I fish with a surf master 850.......and have had no problems at all, comes with a spare spool and holds shed loada line. And at £50 its a bargin... if your tackle shop wont do it for that price then try E-BAY

The Shimano power aero xt10000 with bait runner is an excellent reel it has a low gear ratio of 3.5:1 not the best for fast retrieve but will handle big fish and will pull in a bin liner full of kelp without breaking a sweat its an expensive reel but it will last a lifetime.

The bait runner feature is excellent also especially when fishing for fish that like to run, also handy for quick setup.

shimano ultegra 1200 xsa simply can be beaten for the price.

I use a couple of Daiwa Emcast Pro reels and can not fault them.
