Try http://www.stripersonline.com the stripers in question being striped bass... and have a look at the holiday snappers section in this site...

Mac,

You wont get many stripers that far south on the east coast or gulf....This time of year you will get plenty of Pompano off the beach, easy enough to catch close in, you can use an 8' or 10' spinning rod with simple lures that all of the tackle shops sell over there quite cheap....or if you want to take a beachcaster with you you can use either frozen shrimp or sand fleas, both can be bought local very easy...other possibles are Red or Black Drum among other things and always the possibility of shark.....its legal to catch shark, for obvious reasons, but its illegal to fish for them...so if asked, remember that.

Offshore trips can be a rip off....be carefull, if you do go they mostly supply tackle, not the best but useable.

A couple of pointers to remember...first lugging an 7' or 8' tube on a plane can be a pain, make sure the tube is strong and the rod well padded inside.....second, is that you will need to buy a fishing license at the tackle shop before you start to fish, they cost $32 per year, you can buy a 6 month one too (not sure about the price) do not take the chance of going without a license, the wildlife officers patrol the beach and they will ask to see one.

Anymore question, ask away.

Tom.

I'd imagine you can buy any gear you want over there, probably at better prices too! Look for a BassPro store near you, http://www.basspro.com

Best to check with the Airline first on carriage charges as they can be way more than you expect and make any rod very expensive. I'd say it would be better to stick to buying reels and lures rather than rods.

I'm going to Fort Myers this summer and will be straight into the Bass Pro shop :D

Also thinking of hiring a charter so noting Rockhopper's advise above. Looking at these guys at the moment, they say all the right things and provide everything. http://www.teamarcure.com/
