turbot in the south-east

reading dl turbots posts has got me wondering are turbot available in the south east. i fish woodstown beach sometimes and would have thought it was perfect but i have never caught one. anybody got any tips on rigs, marks baits etc would be great (pm me if you like) .thank you

fish baits rather than worm baits, mackerel tipped with squid has produced turbot for me off tramore.. size 2 - 1/0 hooks, I'm sure the local lads will have more an idea where to get them..

all the wexford beaches throw up the odd turbot

Had one Turbot in storm conditions in BallyTrent years ago on a small squid bait.

I've seen turbot caught at cullenstown when it was blowing a gale

i have caught a few turbot on rossdoonstown beach few years back sandeel would be my first choice of bait.

Go all the way down by the sand dunes. :wink:

tramore about 400 yards east of the pier , mackeral baited shrimp rigs
