How do you fix the fuji reel seats to a rod?

I have a DPS 26 reel seat for my AA surf rod. How do I glue this on as theres a bit of rattle when its slid on.

I use graphite arbor to shim the seat and the blank.Other alternative is by wrapping a 1 cm wide masking tape as an arbor or shim.
Look at page 64....

use hot melt glue holds well and all you hve to do is to heat it to remove the reel seat.

Not advice able to use hot melts for the reel seat.Hot melts only design for tip top guide. It wont hold strong enough....and u will find ur seat can be turn around 360 degree.....any epoxies will do.....rodbond..flexcoat .etc...etc...

usually the 'epoxies glue' refer to the fast curing...5 minute(depend on manufacture) use for handle...cork....eva....reel seat....ferule....

Wrapping finish are refer to the slow curing epoxies for coating and sealing the thread wrap that holding the guide/ring.Cheeerrsss...

i have used hot melt glue on all my reel seats and have had no problem what so ever ,not one reel seat has moved an inch.you can use the super glue range but you wont be able to move the reel seat once it sets.the other way is to use a reel seat like the century with the coaster on it .cheers john

I use a layer of electricians tape then slide teh seat over this, if its too loose then anotherlayer etc until its hard to get over the tape . .once its on it doesnt move and can be taken back off (with some effort) if you ever needed to.

I`ll try the electrical tape and the hot melt glue. If the seat slips I can always try the the permanent glue.

Thanks

you can use shrink tube as opposed to the tape much neater...

but you can build up the tape on the butt gradually, with shrink tube you cant.
Just put the tape inthe same are as you reel seat will be going. Never had to use glue on any of my rods.

Then fishing off each end of the reel seat with the karakal tennis grip, looks pretty good, ifi do say so myself!

the electrical tape is another method i use and works very well.just add a bit at a time till you get a good tight fit for reel seat and push it on.

the tube is more for large gaps that need filling, like a reel size that is much larger than the diameter of the butt.. spose the tape is better for "fine" tuning
