saw a shoal of sandeels today, its February is this normal or are they resident,

there were loads of sprats off fenit this time last year I remember I think they were small pollock the water was full of them !
so are you sure they were sandeel?
I remember thinking it was very odd.

glad to hear that.....the bass should be early this year feasting on that....last year the 1st bass i saw cough off bray pier on lug....early march if not mistaken....

Caught sea trout on Sunday Eric and they were coughing up sandeels

Hi Eric,
I've actually netted sandeels this time of year down here in Kerry but that was 2 seasons ago - dunno is it normal but it seems to be more common than I would have thought

We use a length of green mesh netting. it's the stuff you see wrapped around scaffolding sometimes. you can buy it from garden centers too, think it's called windbreaker netting or something
