I am nearly certain that the May edition of the Irish Angler covers all the marks from Horn Head across the Rosguill in the "Around Ireland" piece.

Portnablagh has two main marks, the rocks north of the harbour for rough ground fishing in good weather for the usual suspects and the harbour for dogs and conger, rays and flats over sand in warmer weather at night. It may be a bit early yet for spring Pollack but you might find them "in", bar that you are looking at coalfish and dogs and congers on the bottom. I am told you can pick up a bull huss around there as well in darkness but it is not a spot to fish on your own - very exposed rock mark.

You also have the mouth of the channel at Kilahooey beach, which offers flats and sea trout at low water only. Access is through the golf course at Dunfanaghy. It is safe to wade there. Sandeel is an excellent bait.

Do a search on Dunfanaghy here and you will find some recent reports...

GaryB, was that you I saw on Friday last week walking from Dunfanaghy to PnaB, rod in hand, red pack on back, expression of "I'm on a mission and nothing's going to stop me" on his face?

I would have stopped for a chat but I was a bit pushed for time.
