alrite lads, im wonderin is there any chance of catching conger eel around bray at this time of year? if so how far should i roughly cast? freshwater eel are suppose to be able to b caught in the harbour but ive never had luck, not even a bite :( also ive tryed for doggies out in bray before but no luck either! im some kind of anti dogfish magnet :lol: what bait should i be using for the dogs and how far should i be casting for them aswell?

Dogfish will take anything, generally the more expensive the bait and the more intention you have to catch something else on it, the more dogfish you'll end up with. :)
I get them at any distance, the love squid and all I can get on sandeel is dogs, also try a wee spray of wd40 on your bait and that'll bring them on from time to time.
Conger wise, I dunno really, caught a few from Greystones North beach, none apart from that.

You remind me of the bro in Law aaron. He was always looking to get a few doggies. Then one night during a Tope session in Rosslare he got about 60 :D That sorted that out :lol: :lol:

had 4 dogs on the same piece of burned denny gold label sausage last year in ennereily.. had to wait about 20 mins for the 4th one tho, dont think he liked the fact i put a bit of red sauce on it :lol: ... targeted them once, caught about 40 in 8 hours and have only ever caught them as by catch since, better a few doggies then a blank tho.. they seem too love squid and mackerel but have caught them on everything and anything
