Any suggestions on comphy waders that don't leak after a couple of light sessions. Recently got pair of ron tompsons and they now leak between neo and boot and in joinings where you realy don't want to be getting cold or wet.
They put up with easy winter beach sessions and I used them on piers for keeping clean and warm. Was deffinatly not giving them abuse.
Have about a ton to spend so any suggestions would be greatfuly appreciated.

i have given up wearing the neoporene type and now i only wear the breathables. with a decent set of thermals underneath they are just as warm as the neoprenes, i find ,but a hell of a lot lighter and, so far, harder wearing.
i have had a set of scierra breathables with the neo stocking feet and wading boots for close to two years now and only in the last few months has there been slight leaks, very slight, around the thigh stiching. i have used them all year round for coarse fishing, pike fishing, beach and rock.
i dont think i would buy neoprenes again

had the same pair as you adam for about 3 and a half years and only had to change them cecause they got destroyed on barbed wire. couldnt fault them. always found it was nice to walk a few miles and not be drowned with sweat...now have a pair of simms which are pretty exceptional..

adam,
how do you think the breathables would fare up to digging bait?? would all of the excessive movement affect their performance.
also have you had any problems with holes from hooks getting stuck in them?

Does anyone use the Ocean rubber waders anymore? Could do with getting a new set.

have used the breathables for digging and found no problem with them...just make sure you use quality breathable thermals underneath and you should have no problem

Oceans are great waders, must get a pair of neoprene socks for underneath though. Apart from that their great for fishing and getting bait.

what are ocean waders???

are they just plastic??? surely you would freeze in them on a cold winter day.
prob great for summer digging though........... although i expect you would sweat lie fuk in dem

hi paul
yeah i have found them fine for bait digging, i use them to crab collect all the time and movement/friction/general wear and tear doesnt seem to harm them. i am gonna get a new pair and patch the couple of holes on my old ones and keep them for beach fishing/rock hopping and digging. the slight leaks (they only leave a small damp patch even after being submerged for an hourr) are quite high up anyway so they arent a problem unless i am waist deep.
funny you should mention hook holes as i think thats what they are, from a pike lure over the autumn that got snagged on them (size 4/0 trebles)
generally though the outer surface is pretty tough and i have had smaller hooks catch, fallen on barnacles, had doggies/huss graze them etc and they have held out
as lumpy said good quality thermals and you will be just as warm as neos, but not as sweat soaked at the end of the day :D
they are so cormfortable i wear them all the time for fishing, bait collecting and shooting
