Impact Leads - ingenious - but i have to ask:)

How exactly do you rig them, did quit a bit of looking around, found out alot about them, even found a picture of one ridged ( fuzzy ) tho, could someone tell/show me

Used for a clipped down rig, the plastic part should be in the down position as in the weight on the right in the photo. Clip the hook under the wire hook to secure it during the cast. When the weight hits the water, the plastic part slides up on impact and pushes the hook clear.

is the hook held on by the weight of the weight, or do you mean some kinda of mechanical clipping action?

when you push the coloured plastic bit down a clip is exposed, hook your trace to this, as for ofg casts its is possible with clipped down rigs, but you have to keep the tension on the rig, dont let the line go slack

the aim is to make your rig so that the hook is perfectly positioned to allow it to clip into the bait clip on the lead and be ejected on impact with the water. it helps if you use an SRT spring to tension the snood.

other than that you can use any casting style you want

make up your clipped rig in the normal way but dont crimp the swivel and beads in place on the snood , give the rig body a good stretch or after your first cast the snood will be too long , clip the hook onto the lead slide the crimps up the line until the snood is just tight and crimp in place :D simple p.s you need to hang the trace on something , the gemini website has good diagrams and step by step instructions for most rigs

If the stretching gives you any problems just ad SRT springs 8) . They will keep everything tight and in place in the air . If you take all your used rigs after a hard days fishing , home . :idea: Then take all the bits off the old rigs and put them in a bits box the price of some of the tackle we use drops dramatically when re-used . :lol:
