Was out for a walk the other day an i came across a dead Otter, I took a few snaps as i had the camera with me but as these are quite rare(i think) especially in Dublin should I report it to someone??

well KK the otter isint as rare as you might think - maybe you are right in terms of the locality but they are not threatened badly countrywide
as regards reporting it - theres no need - unless it was road kill
there is currently a roadkill survey on biology.ie - and stats as regards rarer animals such as otters are far more interesting than the usual cats dogs etc.

i found a dead one beside the royal canal a few months ago. i saw a live one fishing in the tolka in drumcondra on christmas eve. a guy in trinity now has the dead one. there is an organisation that monitors sightings and the population etc.
