Is crab (not peeler ) any good for cod?

im sure they would eat hardbacks, but the problem would be creating a scent trail.

I've gutted allot of cod in my time and I've come across loads of hard backs in the stomachs. this is what i would do
hook the hardy the way you would normally by removing the very back leg and then pass the hook through the socket where the leg use to be. then if you wanted you could pass a v sharp knife down through the crabs shell a couple of times i would imagine this would get the juices goin for the scent trail.
i would definitely try them pike :!:

the great thing about peelers is the pheromones they release while their peeling, this attracts the fish.
